June 3, 2016: Tonight I was interviewed by Rodney Bardin of station KCTY/FM radio in Long Beach, CA about my book, “The Ultimate Book of Dad Jokes” – The interview ran a full hour with 3 breaks for commercials and station identification – Rodney was a most congenial host and made me feel right at home in a conversational talk session – We covered subjects as the source of my puns, how I think them up, do I have special areas I pursue, and in general how my mind works in this arena…
He read a number of the puns from the book over the air, and asked me for my favorite – Not having a specific one favorite I shared one that he as a former lingerie model photographer would appreciate: “Super models are often overly concerned with their face value and the body of their work” – He described his work as one of the more boring parts of his professional life…! I shared a little about my professional camera work, and spent a major part of the interview around the subject of my family’s internment during WWII in a concentration camp in Colorado under his questioning – He has several friends who were “in camp” and has an understanding of that episode of our history – He also worked with Pat Morita of Karate Kid fame in a TV series titled “Ohara” about a Japanese-American Lt. of homicide in the 1987 era…
I had a fun time in the interview, and hope it helps promote the sale of “The Ultimate” book in time for Father’s Day – whether it does or not, I had a good time and this has been a wonderful emotional ride for me and my four grandchildren, Casey, Venice, Xander, and Teiya…
Happy for you Gordon. It’s an exciting time!

Delighted for you. Many of your puns are delicious word play. Never heard the one about models and the body of the work, glad I just did.
